Major Network Expansion into Far Western NSW
Vertel’s extensive experience with building digital LMR networks has positioned us as the carrier of choice for demanding network builds. Today we are excited to announce that we will begin building another P25 network for a key NSW government department.
Vertel has been pioneering the build and operation of mobile networks since 1973. In the mid 2000’s we built dedicated P25 land mobile radio networks for two NSW councils – Coffs Harbour and later Armidale.
Project 25 (P25 or APCO-25) is a suite of standards for digital mobile radio communications designed for use by public safety organizations. P25 radios are a direct replacement for analogue UHF radios but add the ability to transfer data as well as voice, allowing for a more natural implementation of encryption or messaging.
This new network will provide coverage from Mildura, to Broken Hill and up to Tibooburra in the north, an area of more than 175,000 square kilometres.
A network build of this size and complexity in such a remote part of NSW is deeply aligned to Vertel’s vision of providing critical network services that facilitate dramatically enhanced outcomes in education, health, community, and emergency services in underserved regions of Australia.
