Service Overview

Vertel owns and manages a portfolio of Australia's premier communication sites for two-way and microwave communication networks. These sites are offered to carriers, service providers and large enterprise organisations that require well positioned and quality managed sites in the capital and major cities throughout Australia.

Vertel offers a full range of services from site acquisition, to design, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. Our simplest offering provides an area to house an antenna and rack system. This offering can be expanded to provide a full turn key service where the site shelter and backhaul is designed, commissioned and maintained for a fixed monthly fee.

Key Benefits

Speed to market

Vertel's large portfolio of fully managed sites allows business partners to quickly deploy networks. With Vertel taking a full turn key approach to site provisioning, a network operator can 'go live' faster and capture revenue without delay.

Greater Coverage and Reach

Operating from the highest points in the capital and major cities provides excellent coverage for mobile systems and good reach for microwave services. This results in fewer 'black spots' and the consolidation of a number of fixed services from the same site. This allows operators to aggregate spend over fewer sites and deploy less equipment.

Higher Quality of Service

With backup power, a managed radio frequency (RF) environment, secure sites and well maintained mounts and cabling, Vertel's sites are of the highest quality.

Flexibility and Effectiveness

Vertel's commercial flexibility and speed allows for greater innovation in establishing a site user agreement that suits a network operator's time and cost criteria. As Vertel's engineering team has a in-depth knowledge of the site portfolio, it is often cost and time effective to have the Vertel team undertake some or all of the design, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of the infrastructure.

If there is no site available Vertel will acquire the site on behalf of the network operator. This reduces the cost and time associated with the sometimes complex arrangements, allowing the operator to focus on its core business.

Reduce Capital Expenditure

Vertel also offers a comprehensive and fully managed range of TDM or Ethernet based backhaul services called Smart Site. As a fully managed site and backhaul offering, a network operator avoids investing time and money on non-core business. The service is provided as an 'off balance sheet' element of the network provision. This assists carriers and service providers who want to maintain their cash and manage their return on capital employed (ROCE).

Another benefit of this 'bundled' site offer is that the Ethernet backhaul service is based on the Metro Ethernet Forum standard. This enables cost effective bandwidth growth, a flexible class of service and high value applications.
