Work With Us
Our business is passionate about achieving its vision because we are an organisation of passionate people. We are proud to be a highly engaged team of individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Our culture is shaped by both our values and our people. We find fulfilment in knowing that we are making a meaningful difference in the way that people receive education, health and community services in Australia.
We reward and recognise people based on merit, not just years of service. We believe in treating all staff as business leaders, who care about achieving business results and aren’t afraid to speak up or suggest a new approach. We’re a business that encourages and embraces change. We believe innovation is the future and our people reflect that philosophy.
We empower our people to take initiative. We believe that the individual is the expert in their role so we treat every staff member as a subject matter expert and embrace an inverted leadership model.
We are committed to developing our people and have a culture of continual self-development. We provide a formalised personal development program to ensure that we are helping our people address their short, medium and long term career goals.
A bonus day off on your Vertel anniversary
A daily selection of seasonal fruit and breakfast choices
Plan and purchase an extra 2 weeks annual leave every year
Monthly lunches and Friday drinks on us
We want Vertel to be a great place to work and offer a whole host of perks to make each day a great day. The month kicks off with Coffee Monday (an open tab at the local café) and finishes with an all staff lunch. In between we offer breakfast, fruit and weekly drinks on a Friday afternoon.
Our people go above and beyond every single day which means reward and recognition is a big part of our culture. Our monthly GONYA – good on ya – awards are peer nominated awards. The annual Vertices celebrate the pinnacles of our success throughout the year.
It’s important that we go above and beyond too – so we offer 5 days paid paternity leave to new fathers, an extra day off on the anniversary on your Vertel anniversary and the opportunity to purchase up to 2 weeks extra annual leave.
It’s important to us that our staff have the opportunity to give back. We have a community volunteering program in place which gives our people the freedom to support the causes that matter to them while aligned to our culture and business values. We run regular sessions throughout the year to support charitable and not-for-profit organisations.
We support a range of cultural and community organisations through sponsorship and technology support. We engage staff with these philanthropic pursuits by extending performance access and dedicated tours to our team.
We want to leave a legacy in Australian communities, as well as providing critical network services which will dramatically improve the health and education outcomes in these regions. We have a training program in place to upskill local support providers and increase their skill set.
We are also investing in research and development initiatives to bring our services to truly remote locations using ground-breaking technology. We don’t mandate these initiatives, we just encourage our people to use their creativity to help the wider community.
