Connectivity for Application DeliveryClublinks Telecommunications
Clublinks manages the communications for private housing at the Sandhurst and Sanctuary Lakes golf clubs, this advanced FTTH network needed a high capacity backhaul solution to these regional locations. Vertel's fully managed Etherwave Line service was the perfect fit and Netconnect internet guarantees high speed, unlimited internet access to residents.
Clublinks 'triple play' telecommunication offering delivers voice, video and data services to the tenants of the estate. Clublinks required a high speed, carrier grade backhaul from the estate to a nominated point of interconnect in the Melbourne CBD. Owing to the remote location of these estates and the lack of existing fibre infrastructure, Clublinks faced a lengthy delay, huge upfront costs and long term contract for a fibre service to be delivered.
Clublinks required a network which could provide;
- Scalable backhaul to their fibre network.
- Layer 2 handoff to support voice, video and data transmission.
- Minimal upfront costs.
- The same QoS guarantees and SLA's as a fibre service.
- Access to outer metro locations.
Vertel worked closely with Clublinks to craft a highly cost effective broadband network with minimal up front commissioning charge and a flat rate monthly service fee which would allow Clublinks to use OPEX rather than CAPEX and better manage their communications budget.
Vertel also proposed the use of microwave access to alleviate the cost of installing fibre. Vertel's hybrid microwave network with an MPLS core has been MEF certified for the delivery of Carrier Ethernet services, with the same QoS and availability guarantees as fibre services and the added bonus of media and path diversity.
Vertel's extensive experience delivering hybrid microwave / fibre solutions to regional Victoria meant the solution designed could leverage heavily from Vertel's existing infrastructure in the region, easily providing a highly scalable Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet connection, as well as providing an unmetered 100Mbps Internet connection to the resort.
- Scalable microwave link into Vertel MPLS core network.
- Layer 2 connection to carry multiple types of service (support for Multi-CoS).
- MEF CE 2.0 certified Carrier Ethernet service for interoperatability.
- Fully managed end-to-end service.
- "Gold Class" SLA for high availability and improved restoration times.
The Clublinks network was increased up to 500Mbps for Sandhurst Club and to 150Mbps for Sanctuary Lakes.
Other key benefits:
More services, better standards: Clublinks has been able to use the flexibility of a Layer 2 service to diversify itself, addressing OH&S issues and thereby improving standards for staff, residents and visitors.
Hitting the mark: Delivered on time and on budget, with scalability proven.
Cheaper: Clublinks has seen significant cost savings with streamlining of services
Forward together: A strong partnership has grown between Clublinks and Vertel testament to positive results.
