Data : Team Track
Service Overview
Team Track manages information on vehicles, equipment and in-field personnel. The service provides fleet operators and equipment owners with real time information on the location of a vehicle or piece of equipment. It uses global positioning system (GPS) technology to determine the location of a unit. A wireless network transports this information back into the server. Web-based mapping and management software called OnlineAVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) translates this information into a meaningful format.
OnlineAVL dispatches jobs and messages to units in text format on a mobile data terminal (MDT). Drivers and equipment operators send pre-programmed responses or type out messages back to the dispatch centre.
Advanced M-Nav models incorporate messaging and navigation in an integrated device. In addition to the message function, a GPS-based, voice-command system directs the driver to the desired location.
Information on the individual, vehicle or equipment can be monitored and recorded. This includes distance travelled, speed analysis and active or idle time for vehicles and equipment. Optional engine management modules monitor data in real time. Automatic notification is sent when vehicles leave or enter pre-defined geographical areas.
The Team Track service is a highly valuable tool for operators who wish to maximise the efficiency of their teams, vehicles and equipment.

Key Benefits
In highly competitive industries such as transport, logistics, in-field service and equipment rental, successful businesses are constantly looking for ways to build a sustainable competitive advantage through increased efficiency of operations and reduced operational expenses.
Increased Efficiency of Operations
Efficient job allocation - Team Track allows operators to allocate jobs to vehicles and people that are in the closest proximity to the actual 'pick up' address. This significantly improves the speed and efficiency of the service.
Greater Customer Service - Being able to proactively inform customers of the location and estimated time of arrival of the driver to the client's premises greatly improves the level of service.
Resolve Disputes- Saved records store the date and time that a vehicle arrives on site and delivers a load. This quickly resolves any delivery and invoicing disputes. For providers of plant and equipment, having engine start and stop times allows for accurate billing and minimisation of disputes.
Maximise Driver Time - A full location history of vehicles ensures that drivers are job focussed. Having a view of engine and vehicle performance allows smart operators to schedule repairs and maintenance before breakdowns occur.
Reduced Operational Expenses
Cut Down on Phone Bills - An instant view of driver and vehicle location avoids expensive mobile phone calls between the office and drivers.
Better Routing Saves Time and Fuel - Route optimisation and efficient job allocation saves on time, fuel and money.
Reduce Personnel Turnover - Keeping good drivers is difficult. Team Track allows good management of pay, commission and other elements.
Reduce Theft and Loss - Tracking and monitoring of environmental conditions such as door opening and temperature alarms reduces the loss of perishable goods and theft of high value items.
No additional IT support - Vertel's managed service enables users to confidently run Team Track without employing additional IT staff.
Regulatory and Occupational Health and Safety Issues
Working Hours and Conditions - Team Track allows operators to demonstrate compliance with occupational health and safety regulations for labour hours and breaks.
Reduce driver penalties - Team Track allows operators to challenge road authority on speed and route infringements with stored information.
